Marla and her husband, JP, live in Jefferson, Texas, and they have a daughter, Jaylie. She and her husband own a cattle ranch and raise commercial cattle. Marla is an East Texas native, having graduated from Avinger High School, and then moved to Dallas and pursued a degree in Court Reporting. She worked in the court reporting field as a freelance court reporter in Texas and Louisiana for 20-plus years, having retired in 2012 to help her husband in his residential and commercial construction business. Marla enjoys working with people in building their dream homes, and wanted to add the real estate side to it as well. She enjoys accompanying her family on hunting trips in Texas, Colorado, as well as Canada. She enjoys sewing, her flowerbeds and spending time with her family. She is a member of the New Prospect Baptist Church, a USDA board member, and a member of the Jefferson Rotary Club.
